Frequently Asked Questions

Difference between Warranty & Insurance?

Home insurance will help homeowners to pay for structural damage and loss of personal property from emergencies like theft or fire, while a home warranty covers repairs and replacements of a home’s systems and appliances when they fail from age and normal wear and tear.

How does a new home warranty work?

A typical new home warranty in Alberta is often referred to as 1-2-4-10.

  • 1 year builder warranty to cover things like nails pops.
  • 2 year warranty to cover systems such as electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
  • 4 years to cover the building envelope (roof and siding)
  • 10 years to cover structural such as concrete foundation.
Do you charge for quotes?

No, we do not charge you when we provide a quotation. Our estimates are very thorough and detailed so you know what is included, and the estimate for project duration is also very accurate.

Will there be any extras to my contract?

Our estimates are very thorough and detailed so you know what is included with no surprises. However, should you wish to add more work as your project progresses which sometimes happens, if it is relatively minor, we can absorb these costs for you but larger items will be priced separately and will need your approval before commencing.
